The Italian teachers highly estimated IEF concept

From 14th till 19th of November the vice-president of the International Educational Foundation Mr. Jack Corley participated in realization of a series of the lecture programs in central and northern Italy.

By the invitation of the Italian colleagues the vice-president of IEF Mr. J.Corley has visited Italy to acquaint a pedagogical public with development of IEF in the field of moral education. The first two-day lecture program has passed on November 14-15 in Galilei Institute. (Pestro city) for fifty teachers. The program, past under the name « Necessity of moral education », became for them the first opportunity to get acquainted both with ideas and work of IEF. By the received questionnaire many teachers highly have estimated, in their opinion, philosophical concept of the man taken for a basis in the programs on moral education of IEF. From some participants the request on repeated realization of a similar seminar, but already at a regional level in February or March, 2006 has arrived.

After the basic program in Galilei Institute at support of administration of the Villa Fastidgi has passed additional meeting for the parents, in which participated about 60 visitors. The meeting has passed in one of buildings of city administration and carried the name «A Role of Family at Sschool and Local Community». Despite of a later beginning (9 PM), the hall was filled and also nobody has left during 1,5-hour program up to the end.

November 16 Mr. J.Corley has set off on north of the country to city Bergamo to present IEF lectures for group of 40 teachers, officials and NGO-leaders at the cultural centre La Porta. The next day in public centre of Monza city the conference «Educational Models and Globalization: in search of the general ethical code » was held. Mr. J.Corley, being introduced to an audience by the Chief of a municipal government of education, spoke about the important role of training of youth to universal values to dial with trials and to take advantage of opportunities of the modern world, which becomes more and more and more organic.

November 18 one more conference in Varese city - « Education of character in a multicultural and multiethnic society» was held. This theme was chosen not casually: many politicians and the teachers express concern that the European community fails to integrate in Europe the growing population of the immigrants, that was especially showed during recent events in France.

Last program has passed in Milan, in headquarters of the Italian branch of Interreligious International Federation for World Peace. The seminar under the name «Education of character» has collected 50 teachers and was devoted to questions of organization of the program of moral education on the whole school level.

During the visit Mr. J.Corley met the teachers of Catholic university in Milan, has given interview to the program of evening news in Bergamo and large Milan newspaper, and also has met the vice-governor of region Pesaro.
